About .AL

.al is the Internet country code top-level domain (ccTLD) for Albania.

It is administered by the Electronic and Postal Communications Authority of Albania (AKEP).

The registration period can be from 1 year up to 10 years and the same periods are valid for renewals.

As of May 1, 2013, anyone can register a .al domain.

Second level domains under .al zone (.com.al .net.al, .org.al) still do require a local presence, a service which is offered for free by WebHost.al.

Albanian domains can be registered through WebHost.al.

Domain names should be between 2 and 63 characters.

Although the Albanian language has a number of special characters, the registry has not enabled the use of IDN characters.
